Today is the last day in the football Premiership season, and it's all been decided at the top, but remains very interesting at the bottom.
I see a win for Newcastle at Villa priced 12/5, Man Utd beating Hull at 6/4, West Ham beating Boro at 11/10, and Chelsea winning against Sunderland at odd on. This will mean Boro and Hull going down with West Brom.
There is some good bets today I've mentioned some above but Fulham to beat Everton is 23/20, and a draw between Wigan and Portsmouth looks tempting at 9/4.
Other results i see Blackburn beating West Brom, Arsenal beating Stoke, Liverpool winning against Spurs and Man City beating Bolton.
Tomorrow sees Sheff Utd take on Burnley in the Championship playoff and i see Sheff Utd winning priced 13/8.
Tomorrow also sees the semi and final of the Premier League darts, in this i predict Taylor and Wade to get to the final and a Taylor win in the final.

Not so good
Last weekend i made my first loss in terms of winners and loser, i predicted 4 winners but 6 losers. I did however still make a profit so it wasn't too bad. This Sunday is the last day of the football season and Survival Sunday is massive for staying in the Premiership. Performance of the week has to go to Man Utd who claimed yet another Premiership crown.

This Weekend
Right there could well be a small profit to be made this weekend. I'm looking at Boro to beat Villa at 13/8, stoke to beat Wigan at 6/5, then a few draws at Bolton v Hull priced 11/5, Spurs and Man City 5/2 and Portsmouth against Sunderland at 21/10.
Other games should see wins for Man Utd, Everton, Newcastle, Liverpool and Chelsea, but there's no money to be made here.
Also it's the final of the rugby union and should see Leicester beat London Irish.

Lack of posts

Sorry for the lack of posts over the past weeks but i have been away for a much deserved break, following the end of my uni year.
Looking back i need to tie up the snooker one of my tips made the final but in the end Shaun Murphy was well beaten by John Higgins, and John is now on performance of the week as he now has 3 world titles to his name.
Predictions will be coming for this weekend as we near the end of the football and rugby union seasons, and look forward to a big summer of rugby league and lots of cricket.

Good times
Last weekend proved to be a good one for me with 7 winners compared with 3 losers, although I'm struggling a bit with the snooker. also there was a profit made with me correctly predicting that Bolton and Villa would draw and West Brom would beat Sunderland. It's coming to the end of the football season, and it's tight at both ends which is exciting.
Performance of the week goes to Jenson Button for picking up another GP win, could we have two British winners of the title in a row, that would be nice.

Mixed sport
There is quite a lot of sport happening this weekend, of course we have all the football, along with F1, snooker and lots of tennis and rugby. A lot of the football picks itself in terms of winners so I'm going for wins for Everton, Fulham, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man Utd and Arsenal. there is a chance to make a little bit of cash with Bolton to draw with Villa at 23/10, West Brom to beat Sunderland at 11/8 and Newcastle to beat Portsmouth at evens and they really need to.
As for the snooker i picked three guys earlier in the week, one has gone in Ebdon but the other two are safely through.
The F1 heads for Bahrain this weekend, and Mclaren are looking a bit more competitive, so Hamilton at 10/1 to win maybe a good bet, but Rosberg at 20/1 is a great bet and that's where my money will be.

Quality football

We have been treated to some great games in the last few weeks, but non better than Liverpool and Arsenal on Tuesday. Ok i got the prediction wrong but to be honest i don't care when you see football like that. Tonight the games were a little quieter and i notched another correct prediction with Man Utd beating Portsmouth, and pretty much sealing the title.
Pictured is Andrei Arshavin who scored 4 goals in the game at Liverpool.

Midweek football and snooker

Ok so because of the FA Cup games at the weekend there are 3 midweek fixtures in the Premiership. They should provide straight forward wins for Liverpool, Chelsea and Man Utd, the closest one should be Aresenal travelling to Liverpool.
Also as some of you may know the snooker World Championships have started, and I've been asked to give some predictions on this. Now snooker isn't a strong point of mine, but here goes. Looking at the odds Ronnie O'Sullivan is short at 15/8, i would look past him though as he has a tough draw. Good bets are Peter Ebdon at 33/1, after just winning the China Open, and maybe as an outsider Shaun Murphy priced at 14/1. Till the next time stay lucky!!

Celebration

Celebration is in order as i went past 50 winners on this blog, since the new system started. This weekend was a bit mixed though really with 5 winners and 5 losers, but i managed to make money again, which is the best news.
So keep following, as i head for the next milestone of 100 winners, something i never thought I'd achieve when i first started this blog.
Also being celebrated this week is the winner of the Chinese Grand Prix, Sebastian Vettel, well done on the victory.
Challenge The Hammer results
This was a mixed week for my selections, but in this competition i still managed to pick up 3 points, with Chelsea beating Arsenal 2-1 as i predicted. Also i predicted Spurs would beat Newcastle and they did but i got the score wrong. Matt took me on and also got 3 points by predicting Chelsea would beat Arsenal, and Portsmouth would beat Bolton 1-0.
A draw again this week that keeps me ahead, get in.

Challenge The Hammer Round 3
My predictions for Challenge The Hammer this week are-
Chelsea v Arsenal 2-1
Man Utd v Everton 2-1
Portsmouth v Bolton 2-2
Sunderland v Hull 1-1
Spurs v Newcastle 2-0
Again take me on if you are hard enough!!

Looking forward to a top weekend
This weekend again sees a lot of sporting action we have a big Premier League football schedule as well as the two FA Cup semi-finals. The next round of the motor racing season hits China, and teams will be looking to catch Jenson. I'm also pleased to say the domestic cricket season got underway yesterday, unfortunately the weather has dampened it as it usually does.
So there are again a few good bets to be had this weekend, Middlesbrough and Fulham to draw 12/5, Stoke to beat Blackburn 11/8, along with Portsmouth to draw with Bolton at 11/5 and Sunderland to draw with Hull at 23/10. These should keep us all in profit.
The FA Cup is a fairly predictable affair with the four clubs all in the top six in the league, i see Chelsea beating Arsenal at 7/5 and Utd beating Everton at odds on.
If you feel Jenson Button can pick up another GP win as i do he's priced at 11/10.
Other predictions for now are Villa to beat West Ham, and how we need too, Spurs to win at home to Newcastle and Man City to be victorious over relegation threatened West Brom.
Remember all my odds come from William Hill.

Challenge The Hammer round 2 results
This week in the second ever Challenge The Hammer, i picked up 3 points for correctly predicting Villa and Everton would draw, Chelsea would beat Bolton and Utd would beat Sunderland.
My good friend Alan also got 3 points for predicting 1-2 in the Utd game and saying Chelsea would beat Bolton. So all square, so i stay undefeated going into round 3!!

What a weekend
Some really good sport this weekend, and i have to say the golf was amazing.
As for my predictions i had 6 winners compared to 4 losers so up again, and a small profit of £3.75, so not too bad. If Perry had hung on in the golf that would have been more, so blame him not me.
So this weeks performance of the week has to go to the winner of the US Master Angel Cabrera, well done even though you did pip my prediction to the post.

Challenge The Hammer Round 2
This weekend I'm going for-
Middlesbrough v Hull 0-0
Sunderland V Utd 0-2
Chelsea V Bolton 2-0
Stoke V Newcastle 1-0
Villa V Everton 1-1
So who will step up and take me on this week?

This Weekend
Right there are some obvious winners this weekend, with not much money to be made on them. Liverpool are already 2-0 up and will cruise that one, I'm also going for Portsmouth to beat West Brom, Utd to win away at Sunderland, Chelsea to beat Bolton, Spurs to beat West Ham, Arsenal to be too strong for Wigan and Man City to win at home against Fulham.
There are some good bets though like Middlesbrough to draw with Hull at 9/4, Stoke to beat Newcastle at 7/5 and Villa and Everton to draw at 11/5.
Also Sunday sees the climax of the US Masters, so i will try and pick the winner of that. It's a bit of a shot in the dark but Kenny Perry is looking good currently joint top and priced 5/1, Europe's best hopes lie with Sergio Garcia 14/1 and Padraig Harrington 18/1. Then one outside bet is Todd Hamilton attractively priced at 40/1.

Challenge The Hammer results
Well the first Challenge The Hammer proved to be a very tough one to call, and i must say thanks to Jose for taking part, but I'm not sure that's your real name.
Anyway i collected 1 point for correctly predicting Barcelona would beat Bayern Munich, other than that the results were bad for me. But my challenger failed to guess and of the results right giving The Hammer a 1-0 win!!

The 1st Challenge The Hammer

To launch Challenge The Hammer I'm going to predict the winner and the correct score of the 4 Champions League games this week. I'll looking for someone to take me on and give their predictions of these games, and we'll see who wins. There'll be 1 point for picking the winner and 2 points for the correct score.
So I'm going for Villarreal to beat Arsenal 1-0, Man Utd to beat Porto 2-0, Barcelaona to beat Bayern Munich 3-1 and Liverpool to edge Chelsea 2-0. All i need now is someone to take me on, if you're brave enough.
Generally a good weekend!!
A very good weekend of predictions for me, in total i picked 10 correctly and only 2 incorrectly, one of those being the National.
The football went really well for me and some of the good bets came in, plus Jenson Button won the Grand Prix just as i had predicted.
Also I'm introducing a slide show to celebrate the best performance of the week, and to start us off I'm concentrating on the winner of the Grand National Mon Mome.

Football and F1
There seems to be some good bets for today's football, there are some close games hence some good odds. I'm going for Blackburn and Spurs to draw priced 7/4, Also Hull and Pompy to draw at 11/5. Then wins for Bolton over Middlesbrough at 23/20 and West Ham over Sunderland at 23/20. A bold prediction is Fulham to beat Liverpool at 5/1, but i think Liverpool will win this one.
Other predictions are Arsenal to beat Man city, Chelsea to win at Newcastle, Stoke to beat W.B.A, Everton to beat Wigan and Man Utd to overcome Villa (I'm sorry to say).
Jenson Button is on pole again for the Grand Prix at the weekend and is 7/4 to make it two wins out of two.
Good luck with this weekends predictions.

Let Down
From the mid-week selections that i made, i had good success with six winners compared to only two losers. But i went for trying to win some money and Northern Ireland won when i called a draw, and Italy let me down in the five timer. I have some good bets for the football today and tomorrow so hopefully we can boost those winnings. Oh and just a congratulations to England in the cricket for winning the one day series in the West Indies, just as i predicted!!

Tips for the National
OK I've been checking out the form for the National tomorrow, and it is a bit of a lottery but here goes. My choice is Black Apalachi currently priced around 14/1, this horse won over the course in November so knows his way round, it has a massive chance especially if we get a little rain before the race.

Midweek Internationals and final 1 day international

The football looks pretty straight forward tonight, so not much money to be made. I quite like the look of a draw between Northern Ireland and Slovenia at 11/5, should be worth a bet. Also you could do a 5 timer with England, Scotland, Italy, France and Brazil to win at 11/5, this also looks a good bet.
Other than that i expect Germany to win in Wales, and that's it for the home nations.
In the cricket on Friday, it really could go either way, but I'm backing England to win and come out of the tour to the West Indies with just a little bit of pride.
I'd also like to wish Alan Shearer good look with his new job at Newcastle, he really is going to need it, I've put a picture up of him before he gets all the grey hairs through stress!!

Even Steven
This weekend i came out all square, with 4 winning predictions and 4 losing predictions, with a gain in money of £1.55.

This Weekend
This weekend sees the start of the F1 season, and it looks like it'll be a good one with so many cars in with a chance of winning. Good bets for the Australian GP are Ferrari drivers Raikkonen and Massa who are 6th and 7th on the grid, but priced at 16/1 to win.
Other good bets this weekend are England to come out fighting against the West Indies on Sunday to win the 4th one day international at 11/10. Wales to beat Finland in the football today at 11/10, and a draw between Northern Ireland and Poland at 11/5, i'm also thinking a draw between Rep Of Ireland and Bulgaria at 11/5.
Also i have one horse for you and that's Above Average in the 4.30 at Doncaster priced at around 6/1.
Other predictions are England, and Holland to win but these are poor odds so no money to be made here.
Good luck, we'll see how I've done on Monday.

Last Weekend
Last weekend was a mix for my predictions, without going over them all again. I had 9 winners and 8 losers, so came out just on top. Then i would have made you a little bit of profit. I'm back in the swing of things now, so keep watching.

Lack of posts
Sorry about the lack of posts over the last few days, but unfortunately i received some very bad family news, and haven't been up to updating. I will get back with predictions for this weekend, and start the Challenge The Hammer feature. Thanks for bearing with me.

The rest of the weekend
I'm dipping my toe in to the world of boxing for tonight's fight between Barrera and Khan, i just can't see Khan winning i don't feel he has a strong enough defence. The price for Barrera to win on points is 9/2, and by KO 19/10, either of these would be a good bet.
The football today offers a good mix of straight forward win for Everton, Chelsea and West Ham, Arsenal will beat Blackburn, Hull and Newcastle to draw is 23/10, Bolton to win at home to Fulham 21/20, Sunderland to beat Wigan 7/5 and Villa to draw with Spurs 11/5. All these are very attractive bets for this weekend.
In the Championship Preston to beat Coventry is 11/10, this is the only good bet in the division.
In rugby it should be home wins for Harlequins and Castleford, but no money to be made here. Then in Union and the 6 Nations, Wales to beat Italy, Ireland to beat Scotland and 11/10 England to beat France.
So there it is for this weekend, go out and earn yourself some money.

Last minute winners??
Just got a couple of tips for the horses today. The first is Always Bold in the 1.50 at Wetherby, this is priced around 7/1, and the other is Youngs Town in the 2.20 at Wetherby, priced at 11/2.
These are very highly regarded and should provide two very good gambles for the day.

Not so close
Well the Gold Cup didn't go to plan but if you backed Neptune Collonges on a £1 each way bet you will still have won some money back. I'll have a word with my dad and get you some better racing tips in the near future.
Gold Cup update
Getting late in the day now for betting on the Cheltenham Gold Cup, but my dad's tip has drifted a bit in the market. It's now priced at 15/2 at William Hill. This is definitely worth a gamble now, even if you go each way.

Talking cricket and horses

The cricket finished in a draw as the West indies hung with 8 wickets down, again i predicted this at 5/4. This means another £2 added to the profit made so far, just to remind you all bets are based on you putting a £1 on.
My dad has given me a horse racing tip for the Gold Cup on Friday, this is Neptune Collonges at 5/1 so there should be a bit of money to be made here, the picture shows the horse in action.

Bright Future
The new system has started really well, out of the 16 predictions i made last week 11 turned out to be winners with 5 losers. some of these were easy to pick like the FA Cup winners. There were some tougher picks like a draw between Sunderland and spurs, and an away win for Castleford in France over the Catalans.
From the 5 bets that i said were good to put money on we had 2 winners and 3 losers, and if you had put a pound on each bet you would currently be £3.30 up with the cricket still to come, and looks like another winner as a draw seems inevitable.

New Start
This weekend sees the start of a new era on this blog. I have been looking at the sports fixtures for this weekend, and picked out who i think will win along with some good bets.
In football there is only one top flight game due to the FA Cup, this is Sunderland v Tottenham there is a little bit of money to be made on this one, and a draw at 23/10 looks good to me. In the FA Cup i can't see the big 4 left in the tournament losing so expect to see Chelsea, Utd, Arsenal and Everton in the hat for the semi's, no money to be made here unless you fancy an outside bet on Burnley to grab a draw at Arsenal at 3/1, or Fulham to Utd at 23/10, but I'd not bother on these.
There may be a few good bets in the Championship i fancy a draw between Derby and Bristol City, and Charlton v Watford both at 11/5. Sheff Wednesday could well surprise Wolves with a win at home priced at 13/8.
Today sees the start of the 5th test between West Indies and England, get your money on a draw at 5/4, both teams have batted really well in good batting conditions in the West Indies.
Again in Rugby League there should be wins for Leeds, St Helens, Huddersfield and Hull. Good outside bet here is Castleford to win at Catalans priced 2/1.
No odds available for Rugby Union, but there should be four home wins on Saturday.

Changes
I came out of the weekend 1 down, so 3 down overall, this has prompted me to make some changes. There are just too many fixtures and it's impossible to pick winners from all the contests.
So from now I'm going to pick my tips of the week, I'll just give my top 10 or so of the week, this means I'll be able to give more accurate predictions. With this I'll give an idea of odds, and what you could have won or lost if you had followed the hammer.
After chatting to a fellow blogger Joe Cuffaro I'm now going to introduce a feature called Challenge The Hammer, this will involve you readers pitting your wits against me to see who will come out on top.
These changes should improve my blog and create more reader participation. The score for the old system finishes on 22 wins and 25 loses.

Now for some rugby
This weekend sees the return of the six nations, tonight I'm thinking Wales will pick up an away win in France. Then tomorrow Scotland will beat Italy and unfortunately Ireland will defeat England at Croke Park.
As for the Premiership there should be home wins fro Gloucester over Bath, Northampton over Newcastle and London Irish over Leicester although that one could be close. Then away wins for Wasps at Worcester, Harlequins at Bristol and Sale at Saracens.
In Rugby League I'm going for home wins in every game at Wakefield, Hull, St Helens, Bradford, Harlequins and Castleford.
That's all the predictions for this weekend good luck.

I'm confident this weekend

Premiership football predictions for this weekend are as follows. On Saturday I'm going for Everton to beat bottom club West Brom, Chelsea to beat Wigan, an away win for Liverpool at Middlesborough, and a draw between goal shy Arsenal and Fulham. Then on Sunday i expect draws at Hull against Blackburn and West Ham v Man City, then home wins for Villa over Stoke and Bolton over Newcastle. I think this could be a good weekend, I'm looking forward to it, come on all those that i have backed.
It all started so well!!

Yes last night i started to celebrate a little too early, all 3 of my football predictions came true, although this did mean Villa losing. Then i take a look at the latest cricket score, and see England taking control and at this stage I'm a happy man. But the darts and especially Phil Taylor let me down, Taylor doesn't lose EVER unless i back him to win, and his loss along with Part beating Mardle, and Barny beating Jenkins brings me back down to earth with a bump. King did win though to stay top of the Premier League table so i ended the night 4-4.
(pic, Spurs celebrating too early like me!!)

Tonight's sport
Ok sorry for no predictions on the Champions League, but I've been very busy, the service is now back. Plenty of action tonight and starting with football the UEFA Cup, three English teams in action and i think only Man City will make it through, meaning both Villa and Spurs will fall I'm sorry to say. Darts again tonight and I'm going for wins for Taylor over Wade, King over Klaasen, and Jenkins to beat Barney. Then a draw between Part and Mardle. Bit late on this one but I'm also going for England to win the cricket against the West Indies. with these i hope to get my overall score back in the positive!!

Weekends predictions
Ok so i didn't get off to a great start, with some big teams like Arsenal and Villa letting me down. I did get 4 of the predictions right, but 6 of the predictions were wrong. So i'm looking at improving for my next round, and follow my own advice of doing my homework! Current score for my predictions is 6-8, so 2 down at the moment, but this will change over the coming weeks.

Rugby also

I thought I'd chuck in a few rugby predictions too, to really test me. Ok in union I'm going for wins for Leicester over Worcester, Bath over London Irish, and Gloucester to win away at Harlequins. Then in League wins should be straight forward for Hull and Warrington. Good luck with these, I've also added some links to check out odds on these and to news sites to keep up to date with all the happenings.
Football predictions
Right these are my first football predictions, and I'm concentrating on the Premiership for this week, I'll look at other leagues in the future. Ok first up tomorrow is Villa v Chelsea, a really big game especially if you're a Villa fan like me. This is going to be tight but I'm going to let my head rule my heart and go for a draw. Then I'm going for wins for Arsenal over Sunderland, Wigan over Middlesborough, Man Utd over Blackburn, and draws at Bolton and Stoke. Best odds with William Hill are the draws at Stoke and Bolton prices at 11/5.

How did i do??

Some of you may have seen and some of you may not have seen the darts results from last night. First of all it was an amazing night, what an atmosphere I'd recommend to anyone to go.
So to my predictions, well it started badly with Phil Taylor drawing with Terry Jenkins 7 all, so not good there. The second match went to James Wade, so 2 predictions from me and 2 defeats. Then things started to turn, and as the beer flowed so did some winners for me. Firstly King beat Part, and then Mardle defeated Klaasen, so it turned out all square, not a bad nights work. It was hard to keep my eyes on the darts on occasions as there were beer sellers everywhere, some Coventry footballers, and some lap dancers promoting their club, it was hard work but someone had to do it. final score for my predictions 2-2.

Premier League Darts!!

As i'm off to the Premier League Darts tonight in Coventry, i thought i'd take this opportunity to test my prediction skills. So here goes there are 4 matches tonight, the first being Stokes own Phil Taylor v Terry Jenkins, i'm going for the Taylor win, which should be in no doubt. The second match is James Wade v Raymond Van Barneveld, now this is the number 2 and 3 in the world so should be close, but i'll go for Barny by 1 leg or so. Third match sees Mervyn King take on John Part, Part is a former world champion but King has won both his opening matches in the league, so my money is on King again in a close match. The final match is Jelle Klaasen v Wayne Mardle, this is the hardest to call as both players are very inconsistant, but if i have to call it i'll go for the peoples champ Mardle to nick it. Check back tomorrow to see how i got on, if i'm sober enough to update for you!!

New Start
Right people this is the start of my blog, today i just want to welcome people to view the blog. Over the coming months i will be making many predictions on sporting fixtures, and would love to hear your thoughts.
My dad the horse racing expert will also be chipping in to tell you where you're money should be going for that day, i might also try and take him on with a few tips of my own, not sure how i'll do though.
I'm still building the blog but wanted to welcome people to it, and wish them luck in following my predictions.
